Are Titanium Bolts as strong as Steel?
Share
Titanium has a high strength and low weight which makes it exceptionally unique. Some grades of titanium can be anywhere from 2 to 4 times stronger than steel.
These features make titanium the perfect partner for motorcycles, racing and also for aerospace, medical and military applications.
Titanium is resistant to salt water, they are also resistant to almost all chlorine or chloride solution, however if the chlorine is used with the absence of water or as a gas, this can cause rapid corrosion.
Titanium is used in applications where a high strength to weight ratio is needed, it has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
Titanium can withstand temperatures over 400 degrees C
